Drishti

English Definition

Drishti is a Sanskrit word which means Gaze or Vision. Suppose you are sitting with eyes closed and you hear sound from your back. And I ask you not to move and not even open your eyes. What will happen then? You will see automatically that your internal gaze (even with eyes closed) will move towards the source of sound. Even without moving or opening your eyes, your inner gaze naturally turns toward it. This shows that even with closed eyes, we have an inner sense of vision — one that can look forward, backward, up, or down. This inner vision is what we call Drishti.
